Waseda was the clear choice for me when I decided to conduct my further studies in Japan. This was even before knowing much about Japan, its culture, its education system and most importantly its language. The deciding factor was Waseda’s commitment to an international setting as compared with other universities. In many ways, this was the turning point of my career both in terms of knowledge and experience. Waseda provided me with exactly what a graduate student seeks - expertise in the area of interest. I was blessed with some of the most intellectual people as my tutors, with extensive experience behind them. With a remarkably talented and diverse student body, limited not only to Asia but across the world, my ideas were always challenged, my beliefs were examined and my knowledge base was expanded. Getting to know Asia and the world from different perspectives, both within and beyond the classroom, I was able to develop my own identity. Since courses were offered in both English and Japanese, I was motivated to improve my Japanese language proficiency. In my case, I even had a chance to participate in an exchange program to a school in the USA. In this way, each student is equipped with a glocal experience.

The skills and wisdom acquired in Waseda are of great use in my workplace right now and I am confident that this knowledge will facilitate a seamless and swift journey in my professional career. Looking back, I am proud that I made the decision to come to Waseda.
